In 2016, she also wrote and appeared in Haters Back Off which is a Netflix original series that focuses on the character. Ballinger invented the comically untalented character, who is egotistical and eccentric, to mock the many YouTube videos of people singing poorly in the hope of breaking into the world of showbiz and yet are ignorant of their inability to talent.Ballinger also posts comedy and lifestyle videos on her personal YouTube channel, as well as her Vlog channel, Colleen Vlogs.
