Seasons 1-8 is when shippers submit bids for two shipments through Uship in a reverse auction format. Bids contain comments about the possible risks and potential costs as well as the motivations, and abilities. The job is usually awarded to the bidder with the lowest price at the time that the auction closes. But, at the discretion of the customer it could be assigned to a bidder who has received a better feedback rating from previous clients. Feedback ratings are used to break any ties for the lowest bid. In season 9, shippers get their cargo from an agent for shipping, but the bidding process isn't shown.Winners load their cargo and try to get it delivered in a timely manner before the receiver's or the client's deadline. When the cargo is delivered, customers leave feedback ratings. The show ends by calculating each shipper's revenues and expenses. The amount of the bid is subtracted to calculate the total profit and loss. Sometimes, shippers organize to haul additional loads during the same trip. This money will be added to their tally. Sometimes, the shipper may not be able finish an assignment due to concerns over the size of the load or the weight and road safety. One shipper might employ another person to assist in a job. After the task is completed, the shippers decide how to divide the profits. Seasons 1-8 are filled with hilarious criticisms from other shippers.
