Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the United States and is a Greek-American writer, syndicated journalist and a businesswoman. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer and philanthropist as well as a television host and the owner of the independent free online news publication The Huffington Post. She was born in Greece and relocated to England at the age of sixteen. In Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA in economics. She was the first person from outside the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. She was an author for a conservative newspaper after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a few years later, she developed an online voice platform that offered criticisms on politics. Her fame and popularity helped by attracting a variety of high-profile contributors to share their opinions about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna gained fame after she decided to stand as an independent candidate for the California Recall election to succeed the former governor Davis. Alongside that, she also spearheaded the Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient cars. Forbes identified her the most powerful female in the media industry in the year 2009. Her ranking was at 12th place on their list. The Guardian added her to the list of 100 most influential media in 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she was named president of this media group. It included a variety of AOL properties of the time such as Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos who was a management and journalism consultant. Though she was close with her father, it was her relationship with her mother that shaped her entire life. She displayed leadership qualities throughout her childhood. At 16 years of age she relocated into the United Kingdom to pursue her education and was enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. In the time of her studies, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first female president and sole foreign president. Her graduation was in 1972 and she earned the degree of Master's in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic and an anchor on TV. In addition, she appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started creating books with his editorial assistance.
